While rapping twins Kane and Abel are probably best remembered for the Cyndi Lauper sampling “Time After Time,” the duo’s best effort came at the time when No Limit was first starting to break nationwide.
Ric’s off-the-charts charisma made for the type of unapologetic attitude that would become a standard hallmark for the landmark independent label. One of the best from this time was Lil Ric’s Deep N the Game. While No Limit is probably most associated with their popular New Orleans-based output, newer fans are still surprised to discover that the label was founded in Richmond, California, effectively classifying their early output as Bay Area releases.

What followed was a long string of releases that would captivate the Bay Area, then New Orleans, then the whole world. Couple that with the unfortunate death of his brother and P was focused. Though P was entrenched into the Bay Area at the time and utilized the area to grow his name, his heart was always at home in New Orleans, where he was born and raised. Gifted with a natural intuition to hustle and a incomparable work ethic, P set out to grow his company, armed with a group of artists from that same Bay Area and from New Orleans. The entrepreneurial spirit of Percy "Master P" Miller helped launch the brand, distributing his records throughout the Bay Area in California, where he resided with his mother. When No Limit was founded back in 1990/1991 by Percy Miller, no one could have imagined what it would turn to.
